Cleveland City Schools is proud to announce Dr. Keri Miles as the new principal of Mayfield Elementary School beginning with the upcoming school year. For Dr. Miles, this new role is especially meaningful. She is a proud Cleveland City Schools graduate who attended Mayfield Elementary, Cleveland Middle School, and Cleveland High School. Now, she will return to Mayfield to serve the school community that helped shape her own educational journey. Dr. Miles currently serves as the 6th Grade Assistant Principal at Cleveland Middle School, where she has spent the past four years supporting students, encouraging teachers, and building relationships with families. Those who have worked alongside her know her as a caring and steady leader who understands the importance of helping students feel supported, known, and encouraged. β€œDr. Miles understands the heart of Cleveland City Schools because she has experienced it as both a student and an educator,” said Dr. Jeff Elliott, Director of Cleveland City Schools. β€œShe brings a strong background as a teacher, school counselor, and administrator, and she leads with compassion, experience, and a genuine commitment to students. We are excited to welcome her into this new role at Mayfield Elementary.” Dr. Miles has spent 21 years in education, serving as a teacher, school counselor, and administrator. She is entering her 22nd year in education and joined Cleveland City Schools in 2022. In addition to her leadership experience, Dr. Miles is a National Certified Counselor, reflecting her commitment to supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally. β€œI am honored and excited to join the Mayfield team as principal,” said Dr. Miles. β€œAs a former Mayfield student, it’s especially meaningful to have the opportunity to serve the school that played such an important role in my own educational journey.” Cleveland City Schools is excited to welcome Dr. Miles into this new leadership role and looks forward to the continued success of Mayfield Elementary School under her leadership.
